Today, I'm going to share with you a curry and rice dish with chakalaka.

My husband and I like spicy food. I made this dinner for us. I get my curry powder from a friend from church. Her daughter is staying in Durban. I like Durban curry..

I started with the rice, I added the rice to a pot and rinsed it well and then I put it on the stove with rice spice.
When the rice is cooked and comes out nice and yellow.

While the rice was cooking I started to prepare the curry. I started to cut up the onions. I had red onions I used the red onions.

I add the onions to a frying pan with some oil and don't forget the garlic what is curry and rice without garlic. The garlic gives the taste haha. 🫠😉
I add 1 and a half teaspoons of curry powder and some salt and 3 teaspoons of sugar to the onions, and let them fry together. After that, I add the mince and let it cook until it is cooked.

Now for the best, the chakalaka. I add the can of chakalaka to the mince and cook for a few minutes. And the dinner is ready to eat.

Now my dinner is ready to serve. My kids don't really eat spicy food. My son doesn't like it. And my girl will taste it though. I made them some 2-minute noodles to eat that night.
