@trendthis has never engaged in any 'backroom deals' for votes, nor have they facilitated any sort of quid pro quo scheme for votes. This is objectively false. We exist solely to reward top tier authors and give them the promotion, over and above the noise on trending they deserve.

We exist solely to coordinate the voting of high quality posts. What we will not do, is to continue to operate under the siege of any account, no matter how much authority they claim to wield for the best interest of Hive.
Our crime, reaching out to authors for them to join us in our public discord to discuss the featuring of his high quality posts, the same opportunity afforded to any author via our open discord channel.

It is with regret we must announce that all activity for this initiative will stop immediately pending positive resolution of these accusations, and suppression of our messaging ceased and/or reversed.
With that we appreciate those who helped us improve the trending on STEEM, and then for a fleeting moment on HIVE. In any case, hopefully we can continue to make trending better in some way, shape, or form.
No apologies will be offered or given, and no permission to operate will be asked.
@joshman/@trendthis
I agree that there is no back room deal. We simply want to change “trending”. I voted many posts for no monetary gain. All top 20 witnesses know that and most spammers know that as well. If people can’t understand what hive is all about, please stop mis-information. I am part of this project, this project is Hive. No apologies needed.
This is never meant to be a curation project. It started when trending page of steemit looked un-appealing to non-steem people. Today, the trending page of hive still look unappealing to external folks. I understand hive is new and it is normal to have "hive" related items on trending. But soon we must have actual excellent content on trending. Isn't that we are trying to do with #posh? @trendthis is nothing but accomplishing that goal.
I dont know joshman well, but from his actions I have witnessed on chain, I would be really surprised if there's anything even remotely shady behind the project, other than what it claims to be.
Which is to push noobs on the trending, no strings attached.
Of course I could may well be wrong and I'd love to hear a case for the opposite. After all, drama is what I live for.
I say let's keep voting the same people over and over again :D
Yeah you know, all those who were at the trending page on Steem all day?
We should definitely get them on Hive's trending page too... (joking)
And then there is this new #posh things that one must post his video on 3speak if they want to receive their support and that means no videos posted at the communities, just in 3speak for the votes.
Support all content creators no matter where they post as long as it's quality content.
Sad news for one more day.
The Hive hype is fading and there comes the inside problems.
Wish you all the best with your curation efforts.
Trendthis was started before Ned sold Steem Inc in order to try and get content onto the landing page of Steemit which wasn't burnpost, sbdpotato or other steem or crypto related things, because as important as those things were and the good they were doing, they made no sense to someone new to Steem. The impression people would get is that you can only make any real headway if you knew all about Steem and the blockchain and that was an impression we wanted to change.
In order to do this, we have to forget about whether this will profit us directly and alter our usual voting patterns to say, "this deserves to be seen." I guarantee you that I don't do it to profit, it's not worth the effort trying to find and read through that content. In fact, most of the content I put forward doesn't even get selected for the push to trending, just a few extra votes. The benefit I hope to get from it is a future for Hive which brings in more content creators and consumers.
It was working on Steem before everything turned to crap. We were getting a good variety of genres on the front page of Steem. As I write this, here is a snapshot of the trending page of Hive:

One post Covid19 related and the rest is Hive or crypto reated. Not exactly inviting to a broad range of content creators and consumers.
The discord is open to everyone, certainly not a backroom for deals. We try to answer questions and give a guideline of the quality of content were looking for.
I was very sorry to read this @joshman / @trendthis. And what it represents.
Thank you and @azircon, @livinguktaiwan, @minismallholding, @riverflows for your all of your efforts. It really was / is a great initiative.
Knowing a bit about what you are up against, I guess we'll all find out whether this can be resolved.
I want to make my thinking visible. I don't think this is big problem, its more of a nuisance at this point. Obviously it can escalate, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
Personally, I don't think there should be any bully around here. However, if it is about stake, there is always an answer.
Hive can be bought, especially as the Koreans sell them.
Agreed @azircon ...
> "Personally, I don't think there should be any bully around here. However, if it is about stake, there is always an answer."
... and I would imagine you will find very few you don't agree. And ... Yet ... Here we are. And this is nothing new ...
> "I want to make my thinking visible."
I personally think that is great. As much as I know about you, I consider you to be one of the more positive "influencers."
