The Community Well Project makes an impact in Northern Ghana.

We would like to start by first thanking everyone who has contributed to Value Plan, to the 2025 Strategy, and to the general development and design of supporting elements, including all of the ongoing work with metrics and reviews. Your contributions are what make Hive promotional initiatives possible.

In this proposal we are seeking to fill out the 2025 Q1 budget with 250,000 HBD out of which a portion of 55,000 HBD will be kept aside as long as plausible for our legal opinion (it will be rolled back in and re-initiated in Q2 if delayed).

Normally this proposal comes out two weeks prior but as we were focused on the Strategy it was pushed into February.

As per the deliverables outlined in the 2025 Strategy, each event and activity is to have a SMART goals spreadsheet attached to it, which will be communicated on event accounts. This will help us all track our successes and identify any points of struggle. Talent Land was a huge success for us last year and is projected to have a significant impact this year. We are projecting an interview space at the event and may bring in the Hive motorcycle instead of a traditional booth, in order to save on booth costs and logistics which would be far more expensive and less interesting than leveraging focal points.

Community Well Project

The LATAM version of the CWP will be completed shortly. Instead of being a well, it is a far more extensive installation of a water line that feeds from a stream on a mountain and runs down its length to a village. We aimed to publicize the project after the installation completed but it seemed our reputation preceded us.

The Ghana-based well installation that everyone is familiar with is scheduled to deliver its final planned wells. Two wells are expected to be completed in Q1, tying off deliverables and giving the project time to pursue Hive partnerships.

Both of the CWP projects are instrumental in attracting the attention of NGOs and potential regional partners. These activities have distinct marketing approaches, with Ghana more focused on presentations and LATAM on digital.

Modular Carnival

The Modular Carnival, held in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, is a conference and series of side-events highlighting tech. It is projected to attract 3,000 participants over the course of the week. Dev Expo is a new conference located in London, UK. We are currently working out what the engagement could look like on our part. This event is organized by one of the former organizers of Tech Ex and a long-time industry contact. While this event takes place in Q2, we will complete the planning phase within the next few weeks in order to ensure we maximize our opportunity to present Hive during it.

B2B Venezuela and Spain

Printing + Restaurant Franchises (VZ)

Hive members are working with a restaurant franchise and a large printing business in Venezuela to integrate HBD as a payment method both via Distriator and in general. This engagement has a presentation, educational, implementation assistance and communication component to ensure the new vendors are set up for success.

Sucre Multiple Companies (VZ)

Several companies of various sizes have requested meetings to be introduced to the process of integrating HBD payments. Businesses are excited to take a step towards Web3 through Hive.

Initiation (Spain)

The work to branch out into Spain has also started and is set to continue one step at a time. Brochures have been printed and a list of potential businesses suitable to accept HBD is partially developed. The small team of Hive community members in Spain are also getting to know the local crypto tech scene and working out the next best steps for Hive.

India Digital

Digital promotions in India with the help of @finfarm and other media points is designed to bring Hive to the Indian tech community. This is a relatively new initiative which was launched in the second half of last year and is still seeing active development.

Community Activities

Physical activities designed to showcase Hive will be spread over Q1 as usual. One we'd like to highlight today is the Hive Run @hiverun which is a Venezuela-based running club. Every year it participates in the Maratón CAF Caracas on February 16th. This is a fun activity with a representation and onboarding focus.

LATAM Digital Program

The LATAM strategy has been developed to include a series of digital marketing initiatives including podcasting, ads, and influencer-related target marketing. It uses the North Star Metric for a growth-focused plan. The purpose of this digital approach is to drive the success of Hive marketing in LATAM and support physical initiatives in order to amplify their reach and ensure that deliverables are met.

General aspects of the program:
- Support growth through research-driven goal-setting
- Focus on the online community and its development
- Ensure an adequate supply of digital elements such as graphics
- Focus on onboarding and retention

Hackathons

We are looking at selecting the best hackathon experiences in order to invite more talented developers to consider building their dapps on Hive. At this time there is no explicit list as none are yet confirmed.

Hackathons allow a unique opportunity of direct engagement for experienced Hive developers who act as mentors and judges, helping to make these events a success and streamline the integration of new teams into the Hive ecosystem. More volunteers are always needed so please let us know if you are available to support future hackathons with your expertise.

Proposal

While the above events are to be paid in Q1 and largely take place in both Q1 and Q2, there is a potential of having to prepay for some Q3 events. This is only in relation to conferences where early spots have to be secured. Normal non-conference activities do not require a run-up time of more than a month.

This proposal is asking for 250,000 HBD for Q1 2025.

Still more spaghetti on the wall marketing with nothing that will stick, no showing how any of these expenditures will create new users or create new investors. A simple marketing plan should be more along the lines that if I spend $x, I will create $y. This 25 day interval plan will cost $250k. At the end of the 25 days, consider how many users they might onboard. Let's be overly optimistic and say they create 100 new users, and let's ignore the fact most will be scared away by the doxxing and other irrational demands of hivewatchers. Should we really be spending $2500 per new user? The answer is, obviously, No. Of course, Blocktrades who should be given a vote of no confidence years ago, really won't care and RAM it through anyways-proving the critics right, that this is a very centralized block chain.

What happens to most of the vibes rewards? Most of the winners don't and won't care about hive, not even as a stable coin; it appears to be mostly a tribal based, in the literal sense, commissioned scheme to take advantage of valueplan's mental retardation. Just look how quickly winners divest. A next to zero chance for a return on investment. Bravo. Bravo. And if you follow the money, there are already payment solutions in south America using hive. So, why do we need to spend money in valueplan on this latter part, when they could just make a post on existing solutions and refer people to it and let the community determine the value of the information. Given this, do we really want them behind a LATAM (latin america) marketing plan? I mean, they still aven't done a SWOT analysis. Basically they realized hivewatchers pissed off all the Americans, The fork dumped much of the Koreans behind to steem, and the future of hive belongs, they reason, to countries, some of which are communists under heavy economic sanctions. Hence why the music of a random singer belonging to a particular tribe in African, or south America, is more prized a marketing target than the best music schools in the world. For the money valueplan is pissing away in vibes that will mostly just be liquidated, we really could be targeting the best rising talent in the world and a chance at investments.

I have nothing against the people of Ghana, but again, how is that suppose onboard new users or new investors. There is a difference between an investment and philanthropy, and people do not, unless there is something in for it for them, invest in philanthropy. And if they are to spend on philanthropy, it would be directly to a cause of their own choosing. Like so many of these items, we don't see a specific cost. We don't know what size piping would be required, what type of piping, what type of scaffolding is needed, if any, nor the price tag, how much it costs to ship the material, how much for labor, and how much for other expenses, how many people are we helping. How much are other existing charities doing the same exact work for in africa who have the benefit of doing this on scale. Without detailed accounting, it is ripe for fraud. Without costs comparison, it doesn't seem like it is about helping people, but more about personal interest-whether it be a free trip to Africa, or a genuine desire to feel like they are helping others. It's also not like 99.999% of us will travel to Ghana and inspect the work, but I suppose they counter and say they sent a video/photographer down there too at an additional expense.

And why are the valueplan funds being send directly to particular hive users, rather than a trust account that a user controls. Certainly the two Dans are familiar with keeping a separation of funds to prevent commingling of funds as to allow better financial transparency, but I haven't seen that practiced-and both should know better. And i suppose, as per always, no receipts will be provided-and, suspiciously, a lot of even HDB dollar pegged numbers even in international trade. This is a red flag. And Questions mount over the past expenditures. paying $10k in bracelets, where if we trust they were made at all, could be purchased for $1k. A little google search could save thousands of dollars. It is just a giant slush fund with zero accountability and zero oversight; just cronyism. What exactly happened in hive Venezuela? Why did value plan send lord butterfly to the miami art week? Why do we sponsor a racing team that frequently finished last, if a all. Why did we make documentaries that would be show to a film festival with de minimum attendance. Why do we pay hundreds of dollars to day for video/photography in Croatia of a race cars; is Croatia lacking in professional photographers? This USAID styled slush fund needs to be abolished.

You compacted the interval, but at this rate it would be over 3.6 million a year of hbd pissed down the drain that will come at the detriment of the hive token.

shame on all the parties involved in this most retarded waste of money, that has yet to show any return for the value. Cui bono? At best, it's being used to launder money to trade restricted countries, and give special people free vacations, free race cars, gig jobs that fail to reflect fair market value nor a return on value, and subsidizes from projects that just aren't returning, and were never designed to provide, any value. Its time to abolish valueplan. It is an embarrassment.

Never Trust the corrupt retards behind hivewatchers to manage a marketing plan. They are the number #1 reason why hive is dying to begin with, valueplan is the #1 reason why your investment in hive will continue to tank due to the tokenomics. To maintain HDB at $1, it comes at the detriment of hive. The two dans and smooth should get their head out of their asses, and say no to both these projects.

We can do better. Even starting to act like adults and saying no to half of these DAO projects, would be a huge sign of confidence to potential investors, including past ones who became disenfranchised because the centralized powers of hive have so far failed to get their act together.

Value Plan is unfortunately very heavy on sponsorship and partners but what I'll do is see which conferences will oblige us sharing their decks/requirements publicly. We also have to very heavily redact as we've had cases of people harassing partners. Right now I'm looking for a timekeeping app that can be connected to the chain to ensure we can optimize where possible. Any help with that from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

If a project is funded from DAO, the stakeholders should behave accordingly I believe.

I am quite reluctant to believe Value Plan funds are spent efficiently, and that the projects deliver what they had promised to deliver.

The project is in very, very early stages of development and this is its first announcement, which is incomplete as resources aren't ready yet. We so far tested one meetup and last year did Talent Land in Spain, both of which went great. I think Spain promotions will take off just as soon as research is ready.

One of the project managers gave me the name of the account running the borehole project in Venezuela called @crazy.men after I had a little rant on their previous post. Interesting posts from @crazy.men . No individuals names mentioned as per usual so nothing learned about transparancy whatsoever. Just photos of a bunch of guys lifting pipes etc. Their wallet is interesting though. Had a look at the people who are upvoting the proposals myself. Some names surprise me but most are recipients or master accounts of the recipients. It will get through anyway as the whales always vote for it. Is it a coincidence that most of the recipients are active on the 3speak platform!

It's also funny in their posts that the plants, grass and trees in the photos are lush with green which means only one thing. They get plenty of water. I was somewhat surprised and I checked it out. I know very well what I wrote in that publication, since I wrote it myself, but if you want me to tell you that it doesn't rain in the village, firstly I would be lying to everyone and secondly I would be in the Guinness Book of Records for such a feat. The freshwater crisis is one of the most urgent issues of our time and affects regions around the world, not only those traditionally associated with water scarcity, such as the countries of sub-Saharan Africa or the arid zones of the Middle East. This limited perception contributes to an incomplete understanding of the problem, which actually has a global impact, even in areas with abundant vegetation or tropical climates.

1.Firstly, PLANT ABUNDANCE DOES NOT GUARANTEE WATER AVAILABILITY. Although there are areas with extensive vegetation cover, they face serious problems of access to drinking water due to factors such as poor water resource management, pollution or climate change. A clear example is Venezuela, a country with vast biodiversity and significant natural resources, but which faces a severe water crisis. Despite having one of the largest reserves of freshwater in the world, many communities lack access to this basic resource. This shows that lush vegetation is not a sufficient condition to guarantee the availability of drinking water. From an ecological point of view, soils and plants play a fundamental role in the hydrological cycle, as they help to store water and nutrients. However, this process depends on multiple variables, such as soil quality, vegetation cover and infiltration rates. For example, MANGROVES are ecosystems rich in biodiversity that act as natural barriers against floods, but THEIR WATER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. Similarly, plants such as cacti have developed adaptations to survive in arid conditions, but these characteristics do not necessarily imply an abundance of water available for human communities.

2.Secondly, the INFLUENCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND NATURAL PHENOMENA, which translates into climate change, HAS EXACERBED THE FRESHWATER CRISIS BY ALTERING PRECIPITATION PATTERNS and increasing the frequency and intensity of EXTREME CLIMATE EVENTS SUCH AS EL NIÑO AND LA NIÑA. In Venezuela, for example, the average rainfall rate in certain regions is less than 750 mm per year, with prolonged dry seasons that further complicate access to water. These extreme weather conditions affect both rural and urban communities, either through prolonged droughts or flash floods that destroy crops and contaminate water sources Furthermore, it is important to highlight that CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTS NOT ONLY THE QUANTITY OF WATER AVAILABLE, BUT ALSO ITS QUALITY. Heavy rains can cause soil erosion and drag pollutants into water bodies, while droughts can concentrate pollutants in the remaining water sources. This creates a double challenge: guaranteeing access to water in sufficient quantities and ensuring that it is suitable for human consumption.

3.Third, INADEQUATE MANAGEMENT AND LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURE, the water crisis is also deeply related to inefficient management of water resources and lack of adequate infrastructure. In many Venezuelan communities, for example, access to water depends on tanker trucks that supply this resource intermittently. This is not only unsustainable from an environmental and economic point of view, but also perpetuates social inequalities by limiting access to water for the most vulnerable populations. Indiscriminate logging and uncontrolled urbanization have further aggravated the situation. In mountainous areas such as those with altitudes close to 700 meters above sea level, which is the case where the FIRST WELL is being built, deforestation has reduced the soil's capacity to retain water, leading to a decrease in aquifer recharge and the depletion of surface sources.

In the 1920s to the 1990s, the people had no water problems, then there was an interest in logging, going so far as to cut down almost the entire margin of the ravines. This problem has intensified since the end of the 20th century, when conflicts began to arise related to access to water in these regions.
Fourthly, COMPARISONS. It is common to compare the water situation in Venezuela with that of other countries such as Ireland or the United Kingdom, where rainfall is more abundant and is distributed throughout the four seasons of the year. However, these comparisons must be made with caution, since each region faces unique challenges related to its geography, climate and management capacity.

When we propose to talk about a region or country we must speak with foundations, an image can be interpreted depending on our world experience. Indeed, in our writings abundant vegetation appears, a lot of green, but the inhabitants do not climb 300 or 400 meters up a hill, with impassable roads to water a cedar, apamate or grass, they do not go to water the cocoa or coffee bushes, or other fruits. Making hate without having foundations, starting a debate without precise sources is like plowing the sea. This team need to stop burning through community funds.
I'm fully in favor of conferences, onboarding businesses and other activities that tie into hive and expand it's reach but with full accountability and receipts.

Money is being thrown away too easily and without any accountability. It's as bas as the US government right now with money going in all directions and nobody in charge of it or accounting for it.

It's also time to axe the rally car.

While it was an interesting experiment there is no signs that it has done anything to enhance our visibility or onboarded any new users or apps. Instead it's a very expensive junket for the guys driving the car on our dime.

I won't support this proposal and hope that others don't either until the team is reigned in.

  • Drop the amount.
  • focus on real initiatives for the chain.
  • full accountability to the community.

These are not big asks but should be basic parts of any proposal looking for another 250K.

I have supported this and will continue to support @valueplan. I don't disagree with many users calling for things to be transparent. I think a Town Hall style event or AMA event that is recorded and put on chain would be very nice. I can understand having to redact much of what could be posted publically cause people online can get a little weird and harass people. I mean, if it's on chain it's not like only Hivians can see it. Anyone can see it, even the people that want to see Hive fail. Those people can very easily reach out to badmouth event coordinators or whatever.

I've seen ValuePlan do a lot of great work and I will continue to support it, but I would like to see as much transparency as possible. I can also understand how responses from people like @lordbutterfly can rub people the wrong way, but I don't hold that against ValuePlan as a whole. Some people are just rude and aren't a good representation of the values of an organization or project, but that doesn't mean the project is bad. I'm sure plenty of people don't like @bookerman (WOO's CEO) but that doesn't mean WOO is inherently bad.

Again, it's understandable what people are asking for in regards to transparency, but I think we all need to understand the sensitive nature of this. Anytime WOO has helped promote Hive we have had to supply receipts for costs before any funds were ever issued. I think ValuePlan is a net positive for Hive and helps do a lot of good for the chain that would otherwise not get done.

The whole conspiracy about VP and 3Speak is just kinda wild tbh. It would be different if there was some evidence backing it up. Everyone can just go on chain and see where funds are being sent and track the money themselves. https://hivehub.dev/@valueplan for example with the filter of transfer shows all accounts that receive tokens with memos for what it's for. I also feel like @guiltyparties has a great reputation and has built a lot of trust over the years. Again, I understand some of the concerns and would love to see improvements.

Actually, maybe WOO could shed some light on how VP funds sent to us have been used to help bring eyes to Hive. We had a massive presence at WrestleCon 2024 where 10s of thousands of people saw the Hive branding and were introduced to Hive for the first time. Also, videos with Hive branding and QR codes and calls to actions to create Hive accounts have been seen 1,175,900 times and there are still move videos to go out, our wrestlers have openly promoted Hive on podcasts and interviews over the last couple of years, and our CEO @bookerman has done various interviews promoting Hive as well as help during various Hive events (Rare Evo, Breathe, and others).

I had to send itemized receipts for everything before any funds we received and most of everything had to be paid for beforehand. Can you explain exactly what you mean by "on what basis of performance"? Our situation is slightly different than most as we have 10 partnered wrestlers giving celebrity endorsements directly to their fans. How we applied for the funds is we wrote what we were looking to do and give a gameplan how we would do it and provided it to VP and answered any questions they had for us.

Valueplan has been running for a few years now. I haven't seen any figures for a tangible benefit it's delivered in terms of increased userbase, increased market capitalisation, or increased HIVE price.

Is there any concrete data showing that Valueplan is generating an increase of over 1,000,000 HBD in Hive's value year on year ?

With my accountancy head on, if someone came to me with a proposal to spend a million dollars a year, I'd want to see either a detailed business plan with financial cost-benefit analysis, or a proposal to have the funds as a loan (with details of how repayment would be funded and over what time) rather than a gift.

If I had to drain Hive's capital by a million HBD a year, I'd rather use the funds for something like Distriator, which has been demonstrating a significant tangible benefit to Hive rather than some kind of nebulous "brand awareness" claims.

Don't even think of trying to finance initiatives in Spain. The infrastructure is not adequate and fiscally it is hell for a business (if you want to do things right, of course).

Society is not sufficiently incentivized to accept HBD. The EUR itself is stable enough.

Please don't make me embarrassed to know that people in my country are receiving HBD from valueplan. I assure you at 99.9% that this HBD will be wasted.
