A Shadow at Noon

Hello #ShadowHunters community,
Once again I’m taking part in this shadows contest, this time in round #429.
Special thanks to @melinda010100 for hosting this wonderful shadows contest.

Some shadows are remarkable not because of their size, but because of the moment in which they appear.

At the entrance of a tourist complex in Varadero stands a tall aluminum pole supporting a street lamp. It is the kind of structure that most people pass by without a second thought, serving its purpose quietly day and night.

When I took these photographs, it was around noon. The sun was almost directly overhead, flooding everything with intense light. At that hour, shadows become short and often difficult to notice. The pole itself projected almost no visible shadow onto the ground.

What caught my attention was the lamp at the top. Because it extends outward from the pole, it managed to create a small but clearly recognizable shadow on the pavement. The shadow appeared right beside the base of the pole, as if the lamp had separated itself from the structure for a moment and left a mark of its own.

I found it fascinating that under the strongest sunlight of the day, when shadows seem to retreat and hide, this small silhouette still found a way to reveal itself. It was a reminder that even the simplest objects can offer something interesting when observed carefully.

Perhaps that is one of the lessons shadows teach us: sometimes the most subtle details become visible only when we take the time to look.

Una sombra al mediodía

Hola comunidad de #ShadowHunters,
Una vez más participo en este concurso de sombras, esta vez en la ronda #429.
Agradecimiento especial a @melinda010100 por organizar este maravilloso concurso de sombras.

Algunas sombras llaman la atención no por su tamaño, sino por el momento en que aparecen.

A la entrada de un complejo turístico de Varadero se alza un poste alto de aluminio que sostiene una farola. Es una de esas estructuras que la mayoría de las personas pasan por alto, cumpliendo silenciosamente su función tanto de día como de noche.

Cuando tomé estas fotografías era alrededor del mediodía. El sol se encontraba casi sobre nuestras cabezas, inundándolo todo con una luz intensa. A esa hora las sombras se vuelven muy cortas y muchas veces pasan desapercibidas. El poste apenas proyectaba una sombra visible sobre el suelo.

Lo que llamó mi atención fue la farola situada en la parte superior. Al sobresalir del cuerpo del poste, lograba proyectar una pequeña pero reconocible sombra sobre el pavimento. La silueta aparecía justo junto a la base del poste, como si la lámpara se hubiera separado por un instante de la estructura para dejar su propia huella en el suelo.

Me pareció fascinante que bajo la luz más intensa del día, cuando las sombras parecen esconderse, esta pequeña figura encontrara la manera de hacerse visible. Fue un recordatorio de que incluso los objetos más sencillos pueden ofrecernos algo interesante cuando los observamos con atención.

Quizás esa sea una de las enseñanzas de las sombras: a veces los detalles más sutiles solo se revelan cuando nos detenemos a mirar.
