For the last 2 hours I've been listening to a few of our Witnesses talk and many others make comments on Discord, during the conversation.
The conversation was born due to @littlescribe's show pitting @sircork and @timcliff. In the following hour @lukestokes spoke about current Steem Topics. I am sure there will be a published recording so follow @littlescribe to ensure you get to hear it.

It really helped me to decide what criteria I want to use for voting for witnesses.
Regardless of the current environment and the challenges are you focused on solutions or pointing at problems?
I am in no way advocating ignoring problems.
I AM advocating, letting me know what you want to do to help things get better.
Your ability to throw rocks at others is interesting, but doesn't add value to my experience or my investment.
I don't vote for 30 witnesses, because I hear them complaining more often than I hear them saying anything about what they can do.
If you answer is that you move the blocks forward... Excellent. Good for you. Right now there are plenty of people willing to do that.
Can you do more? Can you mend fences? Bring Value? Create Code?
"I am powerless to SteemIt Inc", is not a platform to run on in my opinion.
If you can't influence the situation you hold no votable value to me.
PS. My vote doesn't impact things much anyway. I get it.
@whatsup
Speaking of throwing rocks at others, I sort of wrote about that in this post that I wrote about you a few days ago I'll delete this comment so nobody thinks I'm trying to shamelessly promote my own posts on other people's blogs or something.
I just wanted you to see it in case you ever feel down or are thinking about problems, it might lift your spirits up a little.
In answer to your question, I'm always focused on solutions regarding anything in life, but when it comes to steemit I don't tend to publicly point out problems or solutions (although maybe I should try to think of a solution for a problem and suggest it to someone smarter than me).
I voted for a lot of witnesses when I was only here for a few weeks, because I read a post talking about how important it is to vote. I PROBABLY should have waited because it's also probably equally important not to vote on something you don't really know much about.
So thanks for writing this, because I need to re-evaluate my witness votes.
Thank you for mentioning about your witness votes because it reminded me that I wanted to do that soon.
Also, I want to upvote this post, but it seems I let my voting power go too low (I'm a little vote happy, but I LOVE voting other people) and I know it's not good to do. So for now, I'm going to leave a comment without a vote which I know is a total faux pas on steemit , but I don't want to feel like I can't write a comment to someone just because my voting power is low.
I will remember to come back and upvote this when my power is higher, or if I don't...I will definitely be upvoting something of yours soon enough and I think you know that. So please forgive me for this time.
